As anyone who has ever worked on the employer side of a 401(k) plan can attest, 401(k) plans are tricky, complex, and sometimes time consuming. With all the rules, regulations and changes it’s easy to see why an employer can feel overwhelmed or put off about operating a 401(k) Plan. Not to mention the fiduciary liability that comes with it. So why shoulder all the risk if you don’t have to? A company can never remove 100% of their fiduciary liability, but they can certainly outsource as much as the law will allow.
